A visual inspection should be carried out on the machinery and industrial hoses and fittings by those who are trained in order to detect any obvious potential hazards. Signs of potential hazards can include wear and tear or cracks in the hoses, obvious leaks coming from hose fittings, and puddles of liquid underneath machinery (the type of test required for a full inspection is dependant on the machine itself).
