The Importance of Hydraulic Hose & Machinery Testing

No matter the type of hydraulic machinery that you own, it is vital that it is looked after thoroughly and correctly to ensure the safety and security of employees located within your working environment, so that the machinery is working efficiently and effectively. This is achieved by carrying out hydraulic testing. Quite often, hoses are the “weak links” and require a daily inspection before their day-to-day use. Updated hose fittings have seen more development to increase their ability to adhere to the demanding nature of their intended work. These fittings require the same essential hydraulic testing as the industrial hoses, as the efficiency and safety of the hydraulic systems are vitally important.
There are many materials used in the manufacturing of hoses, but the most commonly used are rubber and synthetics. Most hoses are designed with reinforcements to maintain the integrity of the hose during use where high levels of pressure are abundant. Their material and design allows them to expand during use with high pressures, aided by the steel crimped piece featured at the end of the hose that prevents any catastrophic failures. Despite the steel crimped piece preventing any major failure, the use of incorrect hoses can be incredibly derogatory.
Regardless of what industry you work in or the machinery used, it is important that it is properly used by people who are trained to use it. A visual inspection should be carried out on the machinery and industrial hoses and fittings by those who are trained in order to detect any obvious potential hazards. Signs of potential hazards can include wear and tear or cracks in the hoses, obvious leaks coming from hose fittings, and puddles of liquid underneath machinery (the type of test required for a full inspection is dependant on the machine itself).

Any industrial based business using machinery and hoses for their day to day workflow should consider the importance of hydraulic hose and machinery testing.

Oil And Gas Prices Review: Bloated Supply Finally Clearing

In 2015, Oil and Gas Prices were at a historic 10 year low, through Saudi Arabia and Russia – both very oil rich countries – refusing to comply with OPEC instructions on maximum oil production. Crude oil, like all resources throughout the world – is subject to supply and demand – and both countries have pushed down global oil and gas pricing through overproduction throughout 2015. This has been catastrophic for the industry, as hedges of crude oil have become more of a burden to banks and governments due to lack of demand, low pricing due to competition of cheap Russian and Saudi oil, and has also meant that the hedges themselves are costing money, due to the costs of keeping them. The slump in prices has also meant that countries and banks have been unable to sell these hedges, as they are in negative equity – worth far less than already paid. As 2016 passed, the oil and gas industry buckled down and prepared for rough times, with oil and gas exploration and production at an ...

The Risks of Choosing the Wrong Service Selecting the wrong courier can lead to serious issues: Spoilage and Waste – If goods aren’t kept at the right temperature, entire shipments can be lost, resulting in financial and operational setbacks. Safety Concerns – Food and pharmaceuticals that fall outside safe temperature ranges can pose serious health risks. Reputation Damage – Customers expect reliability. Poor delivery service can harm long-term trust and business relationships. What to Look for in a Refrigerated Courier Service 1. Temperature Control Capabilities Accurate Temperature Ranges – Whether transporting frozen food, chilled pharmaceu...

Industrial Hose Reels & Their Conveniences

Wear and tear can occur if your hose is simply left out for extended periods of time in a hectic, possibly dangerous, working environment. Industrial hoses on a reel keep everything within the application in top condition, removing the chances of unnecessary damage that will require a replacement and subsequently a large cost. The organisation of several industrial hoses in one business can be an absolute nightmare. The space that is required when storing a regular hose can become quite detrimental, so utilising the space saving benefits of a hose reel can save on space and provide a storage area for so much more. Retractable hose reels are designed with features that allow them to be easily mounted on to walls and ceilings, leaving you to utilise the maximum amount of storage and work space as possible. Other reels are designed to be mounted on trucks and heavy duty vans, so if you happen to have a fleet of vehicles that are capable of having reels fixed to them, you can com...
